Our Rubicon rising stars

Over the past few years, we’ve watched with pride as our junior team members have flourished, taking on increasing responsibilities and making significant impacts both within our business and across the industry.

Their journeys exemplify what makes Rubicon Bridge and Rubicon Technical a place where people can flourish.

Regionally recognised

This year’s Hull & East Yorkshire People In Business Awards nominations are a great place to start in showcasing this.

Customer Relations Assistant Grace Weichardt has been named a finalist for Apprentice of the Year. Since joining our team, Grace has helped to support Rubicon’s sales pipeline and spearheaded our event lead generation efforts.

Grace’s impact extends beyond this – she has become a go-to person across our organisation, demonstrating the kind of cross-functional excellence that we value. Her commitment to giving back is equally impressive; she volunteers weekly with one of Rubicon Bridge’s chosen charities and is currently training for the Hull 10k to support their cause.

Regulatory and Technical Manager Scarlet Bulmer has earned her place as a finalist in the Rising Star category. Scarlet’s progression through our ranks has been remarkable, most recently recognised with a promotion to Manager, reflecting her growing expertise in complex EU food supplement and medicinal regulations.

Scarlet’s expertise has created global impact, and she’s proudly represented Rubicon at major industry events in London, the US and India. Currently undertaking a management apprenticeship, Scarlett continues to build her leadership capabilities while supporting the development of others across our business.

A team growing together

The progression of our regulatory and technical team showcases the clear career pathways available at Rubicon. Sophie Hobman, Connor Beet and Jamie Cross have all advanced to Senior Regulatory and Technical Advisor roles, each bringing unique strengths and perspectives to our growing team.

After completing her BSc (Hons) in Biomedical Science at the University of Hull in July 2023, Sophie joined Rubicon Technical as a Regulatory and Technical Coordinator. Her dedication and expertise quickly become apparent, earning her a promotion to Regulatory and Technical Advisor in September 2024.

Connor Beet’s journey brings valuable industry perspective to our team. After graduating from the University of Hull in 2021 with a BSc in Biological and Biomedical Sciences, he gained substantial experience as a Microbiologist at Smith+Nephew for over two years before joining Rubicon Technical in November 2023. His scientific background and industry experience have proven invaluable as he’s grown into his advisory role.

Jamie Cross’s path to Rubicon began with his BSc (Hons) in Chemistry at Queen Mary University of London, where he graduated with First Class Honours. Having discovered his passion for chemistry during A-level studies, Jamie brought this scientific enthusiasm to Rubicon Technical when he joined as a Technical & Regulatory Coordinator in March 2023. His strong academic foundation and genuine love for the science has enabled him to develop rapidly within our regulatory and technical team, contributing his analytical expertise to our growing advisory capabilities.

These individual journeys reflect the vibrant and supportive culture we’re proud to foster at Rubicon. Whether through industry recognition, international representation or professional development, our rising stars are shaping not just their own futures, but the future of our business too.

We’re incredibly proud of everything they’ve achieved so far – and we can’t wait to see where they go next.
